Paving Plants for Patio Gardens

These low-growing, fine-textured plants can tolerate the hot, dry conditions between paving stones, and most will tolerate being walked on lightly.  Tuck them between stepping stones, bricks, and patio blocks to soften the look of the masonry.

Thymus pseudolanuginosus (woolly thyme)
Thymus praecox arcticus (mother of thyme)

ANNUALS FOR PAVING

Brachycome iberidifolia (swan river daisy)
Dyssodia tenuiloba (Dahlberg daisy, golden fleece)
Eschscholzia californica (California poppy)
Lobelia erinus (edging lobelia)
Lobularia maritima (sweet alyssum)
Portulaca grandiflora (moss rose)
Viola tricolor (Johnny-jump-up)
