Metal Wind Chime

Author: Administrator
There are few people who don't enjoy the sound of an outdoor wind chime and many who do find the sound of a metal chime to be the most pleasing. Their sound is pleasing and soothing and many people find it relaxing to have a set of chimes outside of their home, where the sound that they make wafts in through their windows along with the breezes that make them ring. Simply installing a set of well made chimes can give your home an entirely different and more peaceful feeling, which is perhaps why having chimes around your home is considered to be good feng shui.

An outdoor wind chime is a wonderful thing and there are a lot of different possibilities available. You can choose from styles ranging from traditional to modern, sets which are very small to those which are very large in size and of course, you can also find sets of chimes in many different materials, with metal of various sorts being the most popular type. A metal wind chime set will generally be very durable as well as looking wonderful on your porch or in your garden.

Whether you opt for aluminum, steel or any other kind of metal outdoor chime, you'll have a wonderful addition to your home which will provide you with soothing sounds while adding its beauty to your surroundings. However, your wind chimes will only look and sound their best when you give them the proper care they need to stay in good shape. For the most part, this involves giving your metal chime set a regular cleaning; read on to find out how it's done.

Exactly how you should clean your wind chimes depends on what kind of metal they're made from; aluminum, steel, brass and copper are the most common types, some of which need to be cared for slightly differently. Once you know what kind of metal your outdoor wind chime is made of, you'll be ready to proceed.

If you have copper or brass wind chimes, then you'll need to use a cleaning product which is made specifically for these materials; however, if your chimes are made from aluminum or steel, then you can use warm water and a mild detergent (dish soap works well). Simply wash your chimes thoroughly to remove any dust and dirt which may have collected on their surfaces and rinse well to remove any soap residue. All that's left to do now is to take them back outside and hang them up - they'll dry quickly outdoors and best of all, you'll be able to enjoy their soothing sounds again right away after you've given your metal wind chime set a cleaning.
